From kindergarten to college, Howard County's educational system is ranked among the best in the state. In this section, you can find information about schools, libraries, museums, historic sites, and other educational resources within the county.

Howard County Library System 

A major component of Howard County's strong education system, Howard County Library System (HCLS) is a nationally recognized leader among the great public libraries that delivers high-quality public education for all ages.

Child Care Training and Education

The Office of Children's Services offers a variety of training and education opportunities for those living and working with children and adolescents.  We invite you to attend any event that meets your needs.  Child care providers are encouraged to attend training workshops which meet their professional needs and goals.  Parents, families, and guardians are invited to attend any workshop.  The Howard County Family Institute sponsors events specifically for families; those can be found by clicking HERE.


Recreational Licensed Child Care (RLC)
Recreational Licensed Child Care is dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, quality program for the youth of Howard County. Our programs take children as young as 2 ½ years and on up through middle school. We offer a full array of
Parents As Teachers Program

Parents as Teachers (PAT) program supports a parents' role in promoting school readiness and healthy development.  PAT is a voluntary home visiting program for Howard County residents.

Kindergarden - Grade 12

Human Rights - Seminars and Training
Howard County Office of Human Rights (OHR) is able to provide trainings, briefings and informational sessions to businesses, housing groups such as tenants, landlords, and realtors about housing discrimination in Howard County.  As well, our staff is knowledgeable about employment discrimination topics.  Call and speak to us about speaking to your group.
