Zoning and Subdivision Regulations
Notice of Potential Referendum and its Possible Effect on the October 6, 2013 Zoning Regulations (Council Bill 32-2013)
Please note that due to the referendum drive currently being conducted, certain sections in the Zoning Regulations identified in the referendum petition did not become effective on October 6, 2013. The remainder of the Zoning Regulations are in effect. The potentially affected sections are:
- The definition for “Farming” in Section 103.0, and specifically the portion which concerns the “…application of…soil amendments…”
- The regulations for detached accessory structures in Section 128.0.A.12, and specifically that farm structures must be “…subordinate and incidental to the principal use.”
Before you make decisions which may be related to these potentially affected sections, please be advised that these sections could revert to the text that was in effect prior to October 6, 2013, depending on the outcome of the referendum drive.
The Zoning Regulations can also be purchased at the Department of Planning Zoning on a CD for $5.00. You may order your copy by visiting our Customer Service Counter at the George Howard Building, 3430 Courthouse Drive, Ellicott City, Maryland 21043.
